HEMINGWAY Mrs. Doris Powell Elliott Collins died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at her residence.

Mrs. Collins was born in Andrews, a daughter of the late Bennie Powell and Euphemia Ray Powell. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as past president and secretary of the W.M.U and was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School.

Survivors include her husband, E.M. Collins Jr.; her children, Elaine (Dick) Young, Susan Elliott (Henry) Lowrimore, both of Georgetown, Lonnie Elliott Jr., of Beaufort, David Elliott Sr. and Beverly Elliott (Bobby) Campbell, both of Hemingway; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Powell, of Georgetown, Charles Rudolph Powell, Edwin Powell, Carmen Cooper, Mary Olive Libassi and Sylvia Powell, all of Hemingway. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lonnie Elliott Sr.; daughter, Doris Marlene Collins; brothers, Clifford Powell and Eldridge Powell; sisters, Vivian Hunt and daughter-in-law, Beverly Lewis Elliott.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial following in the Hucksfield Cemetery directed by Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
