James Carney, Soldier Resident, Dies Today
James Carney, Sr., a resident of Soldier for 50 years, died at his home there this morning at 5:30 o'clock as the result of a heart condition.
Mr. Carney was born October 2, 1881 in McIntyre, the son of William and Annie (Cherry) Carney. In 1900 he was married to Margaret Yohe, who survives.
Five children, Annie, William, John and James at home, and Mrs. Dorothy Jehu, of Soldier, four brothers, John Carney, of Reynoldsville, William and Alex Carney, of Sykesville, and Charles Carney, of DuBois and one sister, Mrs. William Morton, of Emeigh, survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the bereaved home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Brickell. Interment will be made in the Sykesville Cemetery.
