He was born on Apr. 13, 1957, in Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, DeVaughn E. Counts; one son, Juriah Keith Counts; grandparents: Kenneth and Mae Beard, Sr. and C.L. and Esther Counts.
Mr. Counts was a postal employee in Bonne Terre for 13 years and was a U.S. Army veteran, he was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Park Hills.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda and Edwin Gibson of Desloge: step-mother Sybil Counts, of Bonne Terre; two sons, Christopher Lee and Richie Andrew Counts both of Bonne Terre; two daughters: Jennifer Lynn (Mrs. Aaron)Wheeler of Desloge and Ashley Diane Counts of Farmington; one brother, DeVaughn E.(Scoop)Counts, Jr. of Desloge; two half-brothers, Robert Paul Gibson of Desloge and Vaughn A. Counts of Bonne Terre; two half-sisters, Andrea Lynn (Mrs. Danny) Hurt of Bismarck and Vickie L. (Mrs. Mark) Green of Bonne Terre; grandparents Century and Beatrice Gibson of Bismarck; several other friends and relatives.
Visitation began today at 4 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Boyer Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Wadley and the Rev. Harold Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Francois Memorial Park.
