Irene Tutwiler, 83, of Catlin, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Jamesburg, Ill., to Chester and Jane Phipps Allison. She married Rudolph Tutwiler Sept. 23, 1944, in Jamesburg. He passed away in 1993. Survivors include: one daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Schmink of Catlin; two sisters, Mary Rouse and Marjorie Malloy, both of Catlin; one grandchild, Michelle Tutwiler; two stepgrandchildren, Ron (Sheri) Schmink and Mike (Denise) Schmink; two great-grandchildren of the heart and two stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded by two brothers and two sisters.
Irene operated a beauty shop in Catlin for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Catlin United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting.
