Mrs. Emma B. Allen, of Beaver, announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Ruth Hazel Allen, to Clyde Albert Lasher, son of Mrs. Estella Patton of Conway. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Beaver high school and the Maison Frederic Beauty School, Pittsburgh, while the groom is a graduate of Kittanning high school, Geneva College and the University of Pittsburgh. He is employed in the History department of the Conway school as instructor. A June wedding is planned.

Starke – Clyde Albert Lasher of Starke died Tuesday at Bradford Hospital in Starke after a long illness. He was 82. Born in Montgomeryville, Pa., Mr. Lasher lived in Pennsylvania and Miami for many years before moving to Starke in 1973. He was a retired teacher and principal who devoted 31 years of his life to education. He was a sixth-grade teacher in Dade County for 18 years and previously was principal of Conway, Pa. at the Conway school, Mr. Lasher every year took the ninth-graders to Washington, D.C., for an education field trip, after leading them in fund-raisers to finance the trip. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Stark. Survivors include his wife, Ruth H. Lasher of Starke; two daughters, Janet Ladwig of Miami and Margaret Parrott of Norwich, Vt.; and six grandchildren.
