The Bush family played an important part in Eugene Stevens life, as he was only 3 years old when his father, John W. Stevens died and about 6 years old when his mother, Harriett, married Frank H. Bush, so Frank was the only father Eugene knew.
In 1863, Frank and Harriett purchased a home at 224 N. Hickory St, in Joliet, Illinois. Some of the family lived in the home until the late 1940's, over 80 years. Most of the children lived in and around Joliet all of their lives.

1. Charles Franklin Bush
2. Harriett Bush
3. Arthur W. Bush
4. Lulu Bush
Frank H. Bush died November 10, 1897 and was buried first in Oakwood Cemetery and on Oct. 19, 1909, he was moved to Elmhurst Cemetery and was buried next to his wife, Harriett. He was 68 years old.
