Florence Winnie Mae Baker, 84, of Turlock, passed away at Elness Convalescent
Hospital. Winnie was born and raised in Colman, TX. In 1944, she married her
late husband Hershel Baker in Tucson, AZ. They moved to Gustine in 1946, and
then Stevinson 1950. In 1985, she moved to Denair and then settled in Turlock in
2003. Winnie loved spending time with her family, was known for her Chocolate
Chip Cookies, and her love of baking. She also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Florence is survived by her children, Shirley Faddis and Ann Baker both of
Denair, CA, and Hershel (Dwaine) Baker of Eldorado, AR, brothers Lee Heffner of
TX, David Houston of NV, sisters Melba Keeling and Pearl Souza, both of NV, and
Maxine Burroughs of Gustine, CA, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Her husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister precede her in death.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. today. Graveside
service will be at Sunnyside Cemetery on Wednesday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m.
