Alfreda Ann Smith (COOK) CUSHMAN was the daughter of Asa and Rebecca Crocker (DUNHAM) COOK and a Mayflower Descendant.

Wife of Robert CUSHMAN.

Robert first arrived in Coloma, CA on 29 February 1852 and then settled in Georgetown, CA shortly after. He returned to MA to marry Alfreda Ann Smith (COOK) CUSHMAN on 12 July 1855 in Lakeville, Plymouth Co., MA. Both arrived back in CA by way of the Isthmus in November 1855. Alfreda was also deaf.

Robert and Alfreda had 13 children with three dying of scarlet fever.
