A funeral for Ernest Clayton Balch, 75, Decatur, AL, was at McConnell-Service Funeral Home chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday,, the Revs. Eugene Steelman and A. B. Van Arsdale officiating. Burial was in the Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Balch, formerly lived in Limestone County where he had large farming interests, but had been retired for several years. He died in the Huntsville Hospital at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Surviving Mr. Balch are two sons, Horace and Clyde Balch, both of Athens, Rt. 3; three daughters, Mrs. Nella Brown, Decatur, and Mrs. John W. Frye and Mrs. J. E. Heidt, both of Athens, Rt. 3; a sister, Mrs. W.O. Baugher of Birmingham; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Married Naioma (Oma) Baugher on November 13, 1907 in Limestone Co. AL.
