Zachariah T Crawford age about 48 yrs was a Civil War Vet. He was a Corporal in Company G of the 213 Regiment of the PA infantry. Zachariah, or Zachary as his decendents know him, was a veteran of the Civil war where he served with his older brothers Charles Crawford (143636946 ) and Capt Emmet Crawford(15360545). When his brother Emmet was killed in action on the hunt for Geronimo, Emmet was buried in Zachary's plot in Kearney, Nebraska next to Zarchary's infant son in what was called the largest funeral in Nebraska history. Zachary died in Denver, Colorado, but his wife returned to Kearney and is buried in the family plot next to her infant son.

Zachary had 4 children who lived to adulthood and 16 grandchildren and his decendents have had several reunions at Fort Robinson (where his brother Emmet had been stationed and where the nearby town of Crawford is named in his honor) over the years.
