Goldie Angel was born to James Etter and Amy Dora (Ralston) Sims on March 27, 1890, and passed away March 27, 1975, at the age of 85 years. She died on her birthday.

She was married to David Hampton Angel, from Kentucky, on August 8, 1909. To this union was born seven children, James Clinton Angel, West York, Illinois, Fred Kenneth Angel, Princeton, Indiana, Roy Dennis Angel, West York, Illinois, Helma Rowena Newlin, Robinson, Illinois, Wilma Doreen Nichols, Grayville, Indiana, and Gevena Edith Evans, Marshall, Illinois. One child, Chauncey died in infancy, Feb. 12, 1926. Her husband preceded her in death, May 8, 1947. She leaves eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She gave her life to Jesus in young womanhood and was a faithful member at Bailiff Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She attended all services as long as health permitted and was especially interested in the work of missions. She went to the monthly mission study meeting as long as she was able. She enjoyed her yard and flowers.

She spent all her years in the West York vicinity with the exception of the last two years when she lived in the home of her daughter Rowena.

Sisters surviving are Pearl Gettinger of Sullivan, Indiana, and Alta Smith of Richmond, Indiana. A brother Roy Sims lives in Flint, Michigan. A brother Fred Sims preceded her in death March 16, 1949.

Funeral services were held Easter Sunday at the Bailiff Church, west of West York, with Rev. Jean Bennett in charge. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Special music was furnished by Sharon Wells, Janet and Joene Cannady accompanied by Betty Chapman. Pallbearers were men from the church congregation. Flower carriers were the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home.
