Christine was the oldest of two children born to Clarence Wilson and Nellie T. (Teague) Combs. She married Dewey Estes and they had one son: Howard.

Christine Combs Estes, age 86, of Brian Center, Statesville, and a former resident of Stony Point, died Friday, September 17, 2004, at Brian Center following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County June 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Clarence Combs and Nell Teague Combs. She was a homemaker and a member of Stony Point Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Estes, and one brother, Cecil Combs. Survivors include one son, Howard Estes of Clarkston, Georgia.; a grandson, Kevin Estes of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Karen Estes of Kennesaw, Georgia; and a great-grandson, Michael Royal of Kennesaw, Georgia. Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 20, 2004, at Stony Point Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Barefoot officiating. Burial followed in the Stony Point Cemetery.
