Two of Nathaniel's sons were Nathaniel Coleman who remained in Ohio and James Coleman who married Sarah "Sally" Yoke. James and Sarah eventually moved to Sisleys Grove, Iowa, where they died. They had one son who fought in the Mexican War - Matthew Hubbard Coleman - and three sons who fought from Iowa in the Civil War. One of these sons died during the war. One of their daughters' husband (Sisley) also fought from Iowa in the Civil War and he also died in the war leaving her a widow with small children. Matthew Hubbard Coleman and brother, John, went to Oregon very early on and are considered pioneers of Jackson County, Oregon. There they married and had families. Matthew Hubbard Coleman married Sabra Ann Goddard and their daughter, Edith Demaris Coleman, married Edgar L. Cochran (2nd Coffman). They had a daughter, Esther Sabra Cochran who married a Holt.
