According to the Seward County, Kansas history book, Floyd returned from the war and married Bessie Ella Richardson, of Liberal, on December 10, 1921. In 1925 they moved from Seward County to Grant County, Kansas and began farming. They lived on the farm for the remainder of their lives.

Floyd and Bessie had four children.
