Leonard E. Buckley, 88, of Warrensburg died Saturday (Aug. 8, 1998) in his home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Boiling Springs Cemetery with visitation one hour before services in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials to Memorial Hospital Hospice. Leonard was born in Warrensburg on July 29, 1910, the son of George E. and Gertrude Disney Buckley. He was owner of G.E. Buckley and Sons Interior Decorators and was former owner of Buckley Car Wash on North Water Street and several area Dog & Suds restaurants. He married Marybelle Tozer on June 26, 1936.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Sharon Knowles of Warrensburg and friend Larry Reynolds; brother, Wallace Buckley of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Iris Jones of Decatur; Sylvia Bartells of Clinton; Doris Cunningham of Warrensburg; Shirley Leevey of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Randy Dobson of Warrensburg; Rod Dobson of Renton, Wash.; Todd Buckley of Frankfort, Ind.; Christina Irby of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Irby, Lindsey Irby and Danny Buckley.
He was preceded in death by one son, Terry, two brothers and one sister.
