Webb Pappan Services Held

Funeral services for Webb Pappan, 73, who died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Maple in this vicinity, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Washunga school house by the Rev. James L. Fisher, pastor of the Kaw City Methodist church. Mrs. Glen Grantham and Mrs. J. Wayne Young sang, accompanied by Mrs. Eugene Bowker.

Mr. Pappan was born May 7, 1877 on the Kaw reservation. He is survived by three sons, William H., and Clifford Pappan, of Kaw City, Nig Pappan, of Burns, Kans.; four daughters, Mrs. William Kekabah, Mrs. Jack Maple, Mrs. Cecil Christian and Mrs. Gene Preston of Newkirk; and one brother, Warren Pappan of Kaw City.

Pallbearers were Bert Barnett, Ernest Wolfenbarger, Flynn Gaston, Charles Cross, Joe Cross and Ben Simpkins of Newkirk. Interment was in Washunga cemetery under the direction of the Whitlock Sons Funeral Home.

Among the out of town relatives here to attend the services were Mrs. Lorene Bearden and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Kenner and Mrs. Maudie Ball of Hutchinson, Kas., Glenn Pappan and Phillip Pappan and their friend Johnny McBride, flew here from Ft. Morgan, Colo.
