She was born in Heidelberg, Germany, on November 1, 1913. Married Paul Doebbeling in 1935. Came to the United States in 1963, lived in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah. Worked at the Primary Childrens Hospital for 13 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was one of the most honorable ladies you would ever want to meet.
Elfriede is survived by her son; Dieter Doebbeling (Helga), Germany; daughter, Ursula Petrulakis (Pete) St.George, Utah. She has 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren in Germany and the United States and a niece; Gabriele (Don) Evans.
Preceded in death by her mother; Karolina Knecht, brother Max Franz Knecht, Germany, son Rolf Doebbeling, and niece Heidi Sims, United States.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, June 13, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Family and Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to Services at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
