He was married to Forella Mae Ford Bridgewater, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Bridewater was retired after 30 years as an inspector for the old American Can Company in Austin, Ind. He had also retired from farming.
He was a member of Vienna Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lydia M. and Rev. Dwight Herin; one brother, Ronald Bridgewater; and three grandsons, Ryon, Jeremiah and Jacob Herin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Bridgewater, and three sisters, Alma McClellan, Isaline Wilson and Mildred Bridgewater.
