Abraham Burner enlisted at Woodstock, Shenadoah Co, VA in Jan 1777 in Cap t Hite's Co in Col Abraham Bowman's VA Regt and was in the battles of Bra ndywine and Germantown and was discharged in Feb or Mar 1778 at Valley Fo rge. He served 6 or 8 months in the VA Militia under Capt Jacob Rinker i n the Carolinas in 1780.
Abraham Burner was born in Shenandoah Co, VA; his father was Abraham Burner SR and his brother was Henry; he married 5 Jun 1870 Mary Magdalene Hull of Pendleton Co, VA. His first son, Daniel, was born at Abraham Burner's SR home while Abraham was away on his second tour of duty. After his service , he lived in Pocahontas Co, VA, and in Oct 1819 he lived in Randolph Co , VA. He died 18 Jun 1827 in Pocahontas Co, now West Virginia. His widow was 76 when sh e applied for pension 3 Jun 1839 while living in Pochahantas Co, VA. She died 18 Jan 1840. They had seven sons & two daughters, but only the na me of the oldest son, Daniel, and as on Jacob H. whil lived in Burnersvil le, Lewis Co, VA in 1839 are named.
