Mrs. Merle Mae (Marshall) Vann, 80, of Hanahan, widow of Otis A. Vann, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at the Hospice Center of Charleston in Mount Pleasant. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 11:00 am at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Vann was born on March 19, 1926 in Dugspur, VA to Ira S. Marshall and Mettie V. Turman-Marshall.

She enjoyed gardening, working with ceramics, and cross-stitching. She was of the Baptist faith, a homemaker and a devoted caregiver to her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her:
Son, Ron Vann and his wife, Martha, of Hanahan
1 Grandson, Joshua D. Wingfield of Summerville; three b
3 Brothers, Vinton Marshall and his wife, Nita, Claude Marshall, and his wife, Sylvia, and Sherden Marshall.

Preceded in death by her
Parents;
Husband, Otis Abbott Vann
1 Son, Wallace J. Wingfield, Jr.
3 Sisters, Thelma Miles, Hazel Banks and Leda Ragsdale
4 Brothers, Victor Marshall, Conley Marshall, Robert Marshall and Ezra (Tommie) Marshall.
