COXSACKIE - Harry G. Case of VanDyke Street, Coxsackie, a retired correctional officer with the Coxsackie Correctional Facility and operator of Case Photos, Coxsackie, died Tuesday, March 29, in Norton Hill after a long illness. He was 71.

The son of the late Vance and Elizabeth Theuret Case, he was born Jan. 17, 1911 in Woodhaven. The widower of Margaret Linkletter Case, he was a World War II Army veteran with the 222 Infantry and 42 Division. He received the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. Captured at the Battle of the Bulge, he was a prisoner of war for six months. He was a medical technician with the George H. Scott Rescue Squad, Coxsackie, a former commander of the American Legion Catskill Post No. 110, the American Ex-Prisoner's of War and member of the Hose Company 3 West Coxsackie.

Survivors include his son, John Case of Augusta, Kansas; a daughter, Irene Berman of Norton Hill; a brother, Ed Case of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Brady Funeral Home, 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Kelly will officiate.

Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Rock Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the George H. Scott Rescue Squad.
