Madison Cline married first Hulda Lackey 25 Dec 1838 in Athens County and they were parents of eight children: Lovina, Joseph, Rachel, Nancy, James, Sarah, George, and Jesse. Sadly Hulda died in January 1862.

In August of that year 1862, Madison, age 44, married second to Marinda (Branch) Jones, age 39, widow of Henry W. Jones and mother of a seven-year-old child, Henry O Jones, and step-mother to the five Jones children.

Marinda and Madison Cline became parents of three Cline children: Samuel C (named for Marinda's father), Huldah (named for Madison's first wife), and Louis Madison Cline (named for his father).

Madison died in 1885 age 67 and Marinda died in 1897 age 74, they are buried together.
