W.G. THOMPSON BURIED TODAY

Funeral services are being held at 4:30 p.m. today for William Grant Thompson, well-known Northwest Arkansas lumberman, who died here Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Bird, after a lengthy illness.

Rev. John McConnell will conduct the services. Interment will be at Bluff cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers are as follows;

Active: Warner St. John, Oren Thompson, and F.E. Lattimore, of Rogers; James Oglesby, Springdale; Floid Bird and Leonard Russum, Fayetteville;

Honorary: A.L. Leitzell, Fort Smith; M. McKimmey, Harrison; Thomas Mackie, Pittsburg, Kansas; James Hawn, Charles Renner, Dr. E.F. Ellis, all of Fayetteville; Jess Horne of Springdale; John McClendon of Tahlequah, Okla.; and a Mr. Steffins of Tulsa, Okla.

Mr. Thompson was born in Madison County February 21, 1866. His wife was Margaret Dunaway Thompson, who died three years ago. Survivors include, besides Mrs. Bird, a daughter, Mrs. H.A. Weidmeyer, Detroit, Mich.; two sons, Clinton Thompson of San Antonio, Tex., and Earl Thompson, of Spokane, Wash.; four brothers, Henry Thompson, Huntsville; Dr. J.S. Thompson, Gravette; E.S. Thompson, Springdale, and Floid Thompson, Broken Bow, Okla.; and a sister, Mrs. Will Long, Hugo, Okla.

He is also survived by two step-brothers, Waler Bollinger of Methow, Wash., and W.A. Prater. of DeQueen.

Grant Thompson's father was Aaron Linton Thompson, memorial # 27797537 and he was a twin to John Sherman Thompson.

Elizabeth, Aaron's wife was their step-mother. I do not know where their mother, Sarah Jane Pool Thompson is buried, although she died at St. Paul, Madison County, Arkansas.
