Son of the late Jasper Rudolph McRoy and Lillian Pearl Cayton McRoy, he servied in the U.S. Army. He worked for the City of Washington, retiring as purchasing agent with 23 years of service. He was a member of the Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of Orr Lodge #104 A.F. & A.M., past master of the lodge, and a Shriner. He was survived by his wife, Helen Asby McRoy; two sisters, Lucille McRoy Wilkinson and Jackie McRoy Hoell. His funeral was held January 22, 2007, officiated by The Rev. Henry Horne with Masonic graveside rites.
