MAHLON J. JAMES OLD PIONEER GONE
One of Morgan 's old settlers Passed
Away February 22, 1924
Uncle Mahlon James died at his home on the Gravois February 22, 1924, at the age of 66 years.
Mr. James was one of South Morgan's oldest citizens and was highly esteemed in the community in which he had resided for these past sixty six years.
Mr. James leaves his wife, six daughters and one son to mourn his loss. They are mrs. Charles Witheral, Mrs. Jake Dunn, Mrs. Ralph Bias, Miss Ola James and Sam James of Versailles. All of the children live in Morgan County, except Mrs. Harry Orton of Birmingham, Alabama.
The remains were laid to rest last Sunday in the Holst
Cemetery on the Gravois, in the Presence of many friends
and relatives.
The Leader extends sympathy to the bereaved family
in their great loss.
