David Carl Coffman, 94, of Athens, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at home. He was born on May 10, 1914, to James (Jim) Wesley Coffman and Mattie Vinson Coffman in Limestone County. He was a member of the First Church in Athens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flonnie Greene Coffman; and his parents. He was a longtime home builder and owned and operated "The Carpet Shop" for many years.He is survived by a son, David Coffman and wife Sandra, Athens; daughter, Geraldine Hardy and husband Carlos, Elkmont; five grandchildren, Joanne Clinard, Dianne Moore, C.J. Hardy, David Coffman Jr., Lisa Dotson; three great-grandchildren, Carla Morell, Casey Hill, John Wesley Ward; three great-great grandchildren, Chandler Morell, Merritt Morell, Ethan (Ted) Morell.
