On June 21, 1941 she married Donald Wooster Schang in Machias, NY. In 1947, they moved with their two young daughters to La Salina, Venezuela where they lived until 1958, when they moved back to the States and located in Gouverneur NY. Sue was a 6th grade teacher, a member of the First Methodist Church of Gouverneur, later attending the First Presbyterian Church in Lowville, and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She died June 27, 2007 at the age of 95 at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility. She is survived by two daughters, a sister, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
