"Mrs. May Hawkins Dies At Hospital"

Mrs. May Hawkins of Wallowa passed away Monday, November 24, at the Wallowa Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for about five days.

Funeral services are being arranged by the Bollman Funeral Home for Friday at 2 p.m. at the Nazarene Church in Wallowa, with the Rev. Ellis Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Valley cemetery.

Daughter of Henry and Sarah Schaeffer, she was born in Wallowa March 24, 1884. She had lived in the county all of her life. On January 14, 1905 she was married at La Grande to Orland Lester Hawkins who preceded her in death on March 21, 1948. She was a charter member of the Wallowa Nazarene church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Don (Lela) Locke, of Joseph; two sons: Glenn and Alvin Hawkins, of Wallowa; one brother, Earl Schaeffer, of Wallowa; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Sabin, Moscow, Ida., and four grandchildren.
