Birthday Dinner
Friday, May 31 being the 45th birthday for Mrs. R.A. Pottorff, neighbors and relatives made her a surprise dinner. Mrs. Pottorff and her sister went to the graveyard, and while they were gone, the neighbors and relatives took posession of the house and spread a bountiful dinner in the dining room. The tables fairly groaned under the good things. After dinner the afternoon was spent in social enjoyment. All had a good time and went home happy. We hope Mrs. Pottorff will live to see many more happy birthdays. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Emanuel and two sons; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pile; Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Klingensmith and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Pile and family; Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Ware; Mr. and Mrs. George Hendersen; Mrs. Jennie Baldridge; Mrs. Will Andersen and children; Miss Jessie Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pottorff and little boy, of Eldon; Mrs. D.L. Monre and children of Bloomfield; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thompson of Floris; Mr. Robert Anderson and family of Belknap; Mr. and Mrs. Work Grant and children; Mr. and Mrs. J.A. O'Neal of Chequest; Mrs. Sarah Bolar; Misses Maud and Nora Rominger and Clay Rominger.
