Friday, May 31 being the 45th birthday for Mrs. R.A. Pottorff, neighbors and relatives made her a surprise dinner. Mrs. Pottorff and her sister went to the graveyard, and while they were gone, the neighbors and relatives took posession of the house and spread a bountiful dinner in the dining room. The tables fairly groaned under the good things. After dinner the afternoon was spent in social enjoyment. All had a good time and went home happy.
