Obit. - A.J. BOLWAR FOLLOWS HIS WIFE IN DEATH

Andrew Jackson Bolwar, eldest son of John and Sarah Bolwar was born in Davis county, Iowa, June 6, 1859 passed on to the great beyond March 21, 1925, aged 65 years, 9 months and 15 days.

It can be truthfully said Mr. Bolwar was one of Davis county's true citizens, having made the place that gave him birth his home all these years. He will be sadly missed in the community as well as the home.

On November 29, 1888, he was married to Sarah Catherine Stroud of Eldon, who preceded him in death just eighteen days. To this union four children were born. Bessie Cleo Bales, Lennie Burnice Thompson, Ira Stroud Bolwar and Beryl Bryan Bolwar. Besides the children, two grandchildren, Iris Darline Bolwar and Dolan Blayne Thompson; two sisters, Emma Louise Pottorff of Bloomfield, Lucy A. Oneal of Covington, Indiana; and one brother, G. H. Bolwar of Floris, survive. All were present at the funeral.

We watched dear father thru the night,
His breathing soft and low.
And in his breath the waves of life
Kept heaving to and fro.
There fell upon the house a sudden
gloom
A window on those features fiar and
thin
And softly from that silent room
Two angels issued when but one went
in.

Funeral services were held at the Bethelehem church conducted by Rev. E.M. Greggson of Eldon Baptist church. Remains were tenderly laid to rest in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were W. S. Fidler, Earl Blott, Otho Denny, E. Richardson, Alvin Christy, Failace Christy, Alva Hining and Cale Wilcox.
