Wilhelmine was born March 10, 1850 to the parents of Fredericka Lueck & Ludwig Louis Schultz. She was born in Hollenbeck, Herzogtum Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Wilhelmine’s father immigrated to the United States around 1857. He left his wife & three children in Germany. About 1859 or 1860 when Wilhelmine was 9 to 10 years old, her father sent for his wife, Fredericka, Wilhelmine and her brothers, August & Herman. They settled on a farm near Peoria, Illinois. By 1864 Wilhelmine & her family moved to Elkhorn Township, Webster County, Iowa. Her family continued farming. On November 8, 1868, Wilhelmine married Jacob Brown. Wilhelmine & Jacob had nine children. After Wilhelmine was born on January 25, 1885, Wilhelmine (mother) died the following day. According to the “Schultz Family History”, Fredericka Lueck Schultz took the baby to her home & raised Wilhelmine until she turned 15.
