Albert Ballard, 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Lovington Good Samaritan Center. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Lovington Cemetery with James Kirby officiating.

Mr. Ballard was born on March 14, 1928 in Panola County, Texas to Jessie & Evia Ballard. He was married to Rosie McDaniel Ballard on July 19, 1947 in Henderson, Texas. He later moved to New Mexico and was a long-time resident of Lovington, NM where he worked for the City of Lovington for 37 years. He loved playing the harmonica and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie, his parents; Jessie & Evia Ballard, one daughter, Ruby Brown, 2 infant sons and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by 2 sons: Alfred Ballard of Lovington, NM and Jimmy & his wife, Verda Ballard of Kermit, Texas. 12 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
