Briggita Shreyer was born in the Alsace region of France and wed Joseph Burger, Jr. (1826 - 1866) in Wittlesheim, Alsace, France on 5 Aug 1826. Jospeh was the son of Joseph Burger, Sr. (1787-1860) and Magdalene Schott, born 1785.
Briggita's obit appeared in San Antonio Light, April 20, 1883:
"Mrs. Brigitte Burger died at her late residence, No. 419 Romania street, last night. Mrs. Burger was born at Berrville, France, January 29, 1820, and was in the 63d year of her age. She was most esteemed by her many friends. The remains of the deceased are to be interred at 4:30 p.m. to-day."
Their son, Victor C. Burger (6 Sep 1860), married Ida Veronica Kempt 18 Sep 1883 and had three children: Alfred E. Burger, Ida M. Burger Shockley and Josephine C. Burger Faust.
Victor and Ida are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, San Antonio, Sec. John Lot 108; Alfred and Josephine Faust are nearby.
Ida Burger Shockley and husband Leonard T. died in San Bernadino, CA in 1970 and 1969, respectively.
