Jack William Yeager was the only son of the eight children born to Joseph H. and Mable M. Yeager. He died of complications from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that happened in the early morning hours on the day he was to be married. According to the obituary, "Jack had a personality which won the friendship of young and older folks, and they all grieve at his passing". He had graduated with the Class of 1942 from Green Rural High School, and had been engaged in farming with his father.
