The funeral for Ernest Pressnell, 79, Athens, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Tim Keenum officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Springs Cemetery. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pressnell died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was born November 14, 1927 in Harvest, to Joe Allen Pressnell and Jossie Gravitt Pressnell.
He was a deacon of Sardis Springs Baptist Church and an employee of Southern Family Market. He was a retired ABC agent for the state of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Pressnell of Athens; one daughter, Lori Mooneyham and husband Jeff of Athens; one step-daughter, Denise Steele and husband Jimmy of Athens; three sisters, Mary Fitch of Fayetteville, TN, Dot Roberts of Athens and Jessie Smith of Athens; four brothers, Odie Pressnell of Athens, James Pressnell of Athens, Charles Pressnell of Decatur and Glenn Pressnell of Athens; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Mooneyham, Jordan Steele and Adam Steele.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Ann Smith Pressnell, who died on April 10, 1984.
