MR.S CLETE BUTCHER, Mrs. Reva M. Butcher, 66, route one, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 1974, in the Males Convalescing home following a tow year illness. She was born in Lewis county, September 4, 1907, a daughter of the Samuel H. and the late Amy Bessie Lovett Bailey. On May 31, 1930 she was married to Clete D. Butcher who preceded her in death April 6, 1967.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cilifford (Amy) Dent, Clarksburg; and Mrs. Hubert (Martha) Carpenter, Buckhannon; three sons Ronald C. Butcher, Jefferson, OH; Donald L. Butcher, Barberton, Ohio and Gary P. Butcher, Weston; two brothers Lee M. Bailey, Weston and S. Wayne Bailey, Dayton, OH; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Hazel) Bennett of Weston; Mrs. Paul (Mae) Gaines, Clarksburg and Mrs. Steve (Linda) Kacinec of Dayton OH; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Butcher was a member of the Gee Lick United Methodist church, the WSCS of the church; Order of the Eastern Star 40, of Weston and the Gee Lick Home Demonstration club.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 14, at 1:30 with the Rev. Emmett Scott officiating, Interment in McCann's Run cemetery. (Weston Democrat August 1974)
