Surviving members of her family include her husband Robert and children Steve Grandle of Las Cruces, Susan Grier and husband, Gary of Asheville, NC, and Jerry Grandle and wife, Susan of Las Cruces; brothers Gerald Stryker of Las Cruces, Winston Dorris of Carmel, CA; sisters Barbara Harrison and Patty Stryker of Las Cruces and Karen Kennedy of Grand Prairie, TX. She has five grandchildren, Matt, Jenny, John, Katie and Emily, and a great-grandson Wyatt.
She was a lifetime educator who taught in the Las Cruces Public School System and Dona Ana Community College. She helped establish and mentor the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women at NMSU. She also served as Province President for Pi Phi.
She and her husband Robert were partners in Dona Ana Development, Grandle Construction Company and Grandle-Kiser Construction. And were very active in the building community of Las Cruces. After retiring, they spent many happy years traveling and RV'ing across the country. Her favorite hobbies were her grandchildren and genealogy where she did extensive research on Stryker and Grandle family history.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 21, 2008 at Masonic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev Norm Story of First Presbyterian Church.
