Mabeleen Barker of West Liberty, KY, departed this life Thursday, February 28, 2008, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY, at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 4 days. She was born on Saturday, December 24, 1938, at Trent, KY in Wolfe County, a daughter of the late Courtney and Gracie Lee Burse Bush.
She was united in marriage to Revis Barker. To this union were born five children, Donna, Revis Keith, Jamie, Kimberly, and William Ralph. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Grassy Lick Enterprise Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Revis Barker; one grandchild, Samantha Barker; three brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by her five children, Donna and James Gillespie of West Liberty, Revis Keith Barker of West Liberty, Jamie and Sherry Barker of Morehead, Kimberly Barker and her fiance, Nolan Lirette of West Liberty, and William Ralph Barker of West Liberty; seventeen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Fern, and Hazel.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Grassy Lick Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Gevedon and Rev. James Tyra officiating. Burial in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Potter Funeral Home.
