Ida Baumiester was the daughter of German immigrants George and Mary (neé Walker) Baumeister, the second of their 11 children. She married Benjamin Price on March 28, 1888 in Bridgeport, Missouri. They had five children before separating by 1930 and divorcing by the time of his death in 1939. She died following a brief illness at the Yorba Linda home of her daughter, Minerva Southard, on April 12, 1951.
Obituary published in the Santa Ana Register on Thursday, Apr 12, 1951 (pg 41):
"Mrs. Ida B. Price, 86, died early today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minerva Southard of 6032 Lake View Ave., Yorba Linda, after a short illness.
Born in Case, Mo., Mrs. Price had been a resident of Southern California for the past 24 years. She is survived by one other daughter, Mrs. Esther Griffis of Washington, D.C.; a son, Roger of Yorba Linda; a brother, Walter Daumiester [sic] of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in McCormick chapel, Fullerton, Rev. Carlton C. Buck of the First Christian church officiating. Interment will be in Loma Vista Memorial Park."
(Note: Ida's middle initial is for her maiden name, Baumeister. On none of her records found to date did she use a middle name, nor did she use a middle initial prior to her marriage.)
