Bill attended South High School and the University of Utah. He served a mission to Western Canada for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he returned from his mission, he spent six months in the Utah Army National Guard as a newspaper reporter. Later, Bill was hired as a civilian by Hill Air Force Base to work on the Minuteman missile guidance system. He continued to work in electronics and retired after 35 years with the U.S. Government in December 2000. Church service was always important to Bill. He served with the High Priest Group Leadership and enjoyed serving with the Bishopric as executive secretary for many years. In September 2005, Bill and his wife Joleen were called to serve in the Washington Tacoma Mission as records preservation missionaries for the LDS Church Family History Department. For many years, Bill had a great love for family history and spent many happy hours writing his history and recording his genealogy.
