Published The Alabama Courier, March 24, 1949:

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for James Edward Sandridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Leon Sandridge of Athens Route 3, who died late Wednesday afternoon from injuries received when the motorcycle he was riding was in a collision with a Ford truck Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred on Nick Davis Road near Dr. I.V. Legge's Hospital about 11:30.

Young Sandridge, who would have celebrated his 19th birthday today, was taken to Powers Hospital and died about 4:20.

Services were conducted by Bro. A.J. Rollings at the Corinth Church of Christ at 3 o'clock. Interment was in Bottoms Cemetery, Mutual Service directed.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. O. L. Pressnell and Miss Christine Sandridge, and his grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Robinson.
