Joseph was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Adam Henry Gamerl and Margaret Catherine Elizabeth Miller.

Joseph was married to Barbara Martha Novak on Feb. 25, 1933, at Assumption Catholic Church in Omaha, and they had three children. After she died, Joseph was married to Martha A. Benak-Vacek on Nov. 16, 1973, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

SERVICES: Fri. from Larkin Chapel at 8:45 am to St. Mary's Church, Omaha at 9:15 am. ROSARY: Thurs. at 7 pm, interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation from Thursday at 1 pm.
