Hollis was married to Agnes Christina Sorensen on June 28, 1918 in Omaha, and they had a son, Donald. After a divorce, Hollis was married to Catherine J. Quinn on July 5, 1924 in Iowa. She had two children from a previous marriage.

Hollis was employed as a livestock salesman for Byers Bros.

Funeral services Monday from the Larkin Funeral Home at 9:30 to the Holy Ghost Church at 10. Interment. St. Mary's Cemetery. Recitation of the rosary Sunday, 8 p. m. at Mortuary.
