LeRoy Duane Garner, age 70, passed away March 2, 1996, at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.

He was born December 11, 1925, in West Point, Utah, the oldest son of Roy and Florence Edwards Garner. He married Elgie Pugmire on November 18, l943, in the Logan LDS Temple. LeRoy was an honorable veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy from l944 to l946.Duane and Elgie lived in St. Charles, Idaho for a short time, in the Clearfield and Layton areas for nine years, and then moved to Salt Lake City in 1954. He was the owner of Exchange Parts Co. in Salt Lake City from May 1959 until the time of his death. He donated many hours to his work and to his fellowman.

After Duane retired in 1988, he and Elgie spent their winter months in St. George, Utah, and the summer months in Garden City, Utah.

Duane was totally devoted to his wife Elgie of 52 years; their three children, Nick, Van (Kathie), and DeAnn, all of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; five brothers, Bud, Doyle, Reed, Joe and Lonnie; five sisters, Betty Jean, Shirlene, Dot, LaRae and Judy.

Preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Marge and Joyce.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 7, at the St. Charles, Idaho LDS Ward Chapel at 1 p.m. Friends and Family may call at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 1300 South 2350 East, Salt Lake City on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Thursday in Idaho at the Ward Chapel, one hour prior to the Services.
