Kathy "Kate" Bayer, 70, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, after a brief and intense battle with pancreatic cancer. Kate was a beloved member of the Lawrenceville community, having co-founded Lawrenceville Hospitality Association and having chaired the annual Lawrenceville house tour for more than a decade. She spent her working career with Milestone Centers Inc., working to enhance the lives of many local adults with disabilities. Kate is preceded in death by her parents, Ella Jane Hoke and Samuel Eugene Hoke Jr. She is survived by her husband, Josh; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen Bayer and Beth Schiro; two daughters, Leah Bayer and Rachel Bayer (Adam Stiska); and four grandchildren, Morgan and Dayne Johnke, and Samantha and Veronika "Ro-Ro" Stiska. Kate's love for her family extended to her terriers, Rexy and Teddy (deceased). Current arrangements are private. More information on a life celebration will be forthcoming on the funeral home website.
