Clark N. Harshbarger, 88, or Mapleton R.D., died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 1980, at the Hill View Nursing Home, Altoona.

The son, of Moses and Mattie (Kauffman) Harshbarger, he was born Nov. 21, 1892, at Ryde. On May 19, 1931, he was united in marriage with Doris Edmiston, who survives.

Also surviving are six children: Arthur Harshbarger, Huntingdon R.D. 3; Mrs. Martha Blessing, Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Julia Hasson, Baltimore, Md., the Rev. Edward Harshbarger, Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Marcia Bradenburg, Severn, Md.; and Mrs. Ann Cooper, New Brighton; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A sister, Beulah Bailey of Mapleton Depot, survives. Seven sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Harshbarger was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Mount Union, and the Men's Bible Class there. He served as president and was a member of the church Council.

He was also a member of Mapleton Lodge, IOOF and was a Golden Jubilee member of POS of A, of which he had been a member since 1909.

For 58 years, Mr. Harshbarger had been employed at Pennsylvania Glass Sand in Mapleton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov 30, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Mount Union, with the Rev. Clinton Chew officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg.

Friends may call at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, from 2 to 9 p.m. today, Saturday, and from 12:15 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at S. Luke Church.
