FRED J. HEIMLICH
Fred J. Heimlich, 67, of 904 S. 20th St., died Friday morning while playing golf at Homosassa Springs, Fla.
He was born in Reynolds and had lived in this community since 1918. He and his wife, Esther Lewis, whom he married in 1921 at Lafayette, were spending the winter in Florida. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Cavalry in France. He had worked as a salesman for Standard Brands for 30 years until retiring two years ago. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Lafayette Lions Club, and American Legion Post 11. He had been employed part time in the Ayres store.
Surviving with the widow are one daughter, Mrs. William Fritsche of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one son, Dr. Fred J. Heimlich, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Koon of La Porte and Miss Clara Heimlich of Lafayette, and one brother, Herman of DeMotte. The body is being returned to Lafayette.
