There are no funeral services for James A. Hughes, age 67 of Newark. James was born in Trion, Georgia on September 7, 1944 to the late Clifford Lee and Argie (Spraggin) Hughes. He died Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark. He was 67.

James is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bobby Lee Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wilma (Bennett) Hughes, children Keith (Daneen) Hughes, Clifford Hughes, Lucy (Paul) Lane, and Bobby (Rhonda) Hughes; nine grandchildren, sisters Billie Buchannon of Georgia and Ernestine Wilson of Newark, cousin Bill Bailey and several nieces and nephews

James served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a truck driver for numerous companies; when he was home from driving, he and his family enjoyed camping and fishing at Blue Rock State Park.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
