Mrs. Margaret Alexander, above, resident of Springfield nearly all her life, died at 3:25 a m. yesterday at her home, 710 East Miller street. She was 48 years old. Death followed a six years illness.
Mrs. Alexander was the widow of William Alexander, who operated a grocery store for a number of years at 708 East Miller street. He died four years ago.
Mrs. Alexander was born Jan. 21, 1892, at Kansas City, Mo., and came to this city when 3 years old. She was a member of Third Presbyterian church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Gaffigan, city; Miss Barbara Alexander, Chicago; one son, William, city; father, Dee Blotcher, city; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Kornfeld and Mrs. Jack Nance, both of this city; Mrs. C. E. Harmonson, St. Louis, and a brother, Elmer Butcher, city.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home. Rev. H. M. Hildebrandt will officiate and burial will be in Buckhart cemetery.
