Obit:
John Sherman Nash, son of William J. and Mary J Nash, was born in Christian County Missouri, April 11, 1867, and he died in Springfield, Missouri Hospital on Sept. 4, 1935: age 68 years 4 months and 23 days. He was united in marriage July 30, 1891 to Elizabeth Jones, also of Christian County. He was reared to manhood by loving Christian parents and remained in Christian County until 1898 when he moved to Webster County near Fordland, where with loving and tender care he and, his wife "Aunt Betty" administered to the needs of his parents until they passed away. He felt the call early in life to become a Christian and was converted in 1897 and united with the Methodist church. Some time later he moved his membership to the Methodist Protestant Church in Fordland, Missouri, and as long as health permitted, he was a very faithful attendant and always loyal to the church. He was a very devoted and loving husband. His home was always a place where people were made to feel welcome and feel the fellowship of Christian people. His Christian life was one which reflected into the lives of others and yielded an influence which will live on and on in the lives of those who knew him. He had been in failing health for some time but was taken worse about two weeks ago and removed to the Springfield Hospital. He bore his suffering cheerfully and was perfectly resigned to God's will. Two sisters Mrs. Sara Gillispie and Mrs. Pulaska J. Brown preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, three brothers, J. M., W. H., and E. W. Nash all of Fordland; a sister Mrs. Emma Burks of Parsons, Kansas, one half-sister Mrs. Jess Burks of Fordland, and one step brother, Mr. John Wright, of Crane, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.
